GLOBAL IMPACT

kickforhope 2010

Our second annual tournament hosted 125 teams, a growth of 35 teams! We distributed $29,020 to fund projects through existing charities working in Africa and one in San Diego. Many thanks to all the teams that participated, and to our "10 in 2010" participants: FC Murrieta, PQ, SD United, and SURF. These clubs committed ten or more teams and funded their own projects through these charities.

Charity: water: $8,500 - helped fund a well and restrooms for a school in Ethiopia.

Kick 4 Life: $8,250 - funded a "test your team" even where over 500 youth were educated about and tested for HIV during an all-day soccer tournament. Check out this touching video thanking all of those who participated!

thank you

Grassroot Soccer: $4,040 - helped fund AIDS education through soccer clinics.

World Vision: $2,650 - this donation received a tripple match from World Vision grants, raising the impact to $7,950 which was used to refurbish wells in Ethiopia.

Malaria No More: $2,155 - used to purchase 215 malaria nets which were distributed in the Congo.

Project Concern: $2,925 - used to purchase 643 school books in Tanzania.

Sudanese Refugee Network: $500 - this is a local charity that helps refugees from the Sudan. Local refugess struggle to make ends meet. SRN used the funds to puchase bankets for refugees.
