MAKE IT COUNT! Upon registration, teams will be asked to select which charity(s) will receive their entry fee. If you are part of the 10 in 2010 club, please indicate that on your registration. We recommend directing your players to this page and having a brief conversation with them after they have had a chance to read about the charities. By making the choice as a team which charity to support, your players are gaining awareness about global poverty and disease while playing together to provide relief. Right now, 1.1 billion people on the planet don't have access to safe, clean drinking water. That's one in six of us. In addition, half of all the schools in the world lack clean water and sanitation. It's the number one reason girls drop out. Kick for Hope is partnering with Charity:water to raise funding for school wells and bathrooms. The cost to provide one school with clean drinking water, bathrooms and hand washing stations is approximately $20,000. Wells will also provide clean drinking water to members of surrounding communities who can collect water when they take and pick their children up at school. Every individual team that selects charity:water as their charity of choice will provide clean water to 113 children for five years.

Malaria kills an African child every 30 seconds, but it can be stopped if we act NOW. Kick for Hope is joining forces with Malaria No More to increase the use of prevention tools and malaria treatment in Africa. Tools like mosquito nets, effective medicines and safe indoor spraying can save lives. For $10 a mother and child can be protected for up to five years. Every team that chooses to support United Against Malaria will fund nets for 56 children and their mothers through Malaria No More.

extra eggs and chicks can be sold to pay for basics. Each family that receives chickens

Project Concern International (PCI) believes every child has the right to an education that can provide them a stronger chance in life. In Tanzania, PCI helping address malnutrition and increase enrollment, attendance and performance by ensuring children receive daily meals at school. But, food is not enough to help these children learn. Many schools are still in dire need of basic materials such as textbook for studentsÑthe ratio of child per book is often 6:1 or higher. With a $5,000 contribution, your club can fund 1,111 books in Tanzania for the 2010-2011 school year. This contribution will ensure schools are meeting the national standard of one textbook for every three students. This simple intervention will double the amount of time each student is able to read and learn each day.
